പ്രലോഭനങ്ങളെ അതിജീവിക്കേണ്ടത് എത്ര പ്രധാനമാണെന്ന് പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കഥ

ഒരു ദിവസം, ഒരു യുവാവ് ജോലികൾ തേടി നടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. വൈകുന്നേരം ഒരു വയോധികൻ അയാളോട് ഒരു ജോലി വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തു. മൂന്ന് ചാക്കുകളുണ്ട്, രണ്ടെണ്ണം വയോധികൻ ചുമക്കും, ഒന്ന് യുവാവിന് ചുമക്കാൻ. ഒരു നൂറു രൂപയാണ് കൂലി. യുവാവ് സമ്മതിച്ചു.

നദീതീരത്തെത്തിയപ്പോൾ വയോധികൻ പറഞ്ഞു: എനിക്കു നദി കടക്കാൻ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഈ വെള്ളിനാണയത്തിന്റെ ചാക്കുംകൂടി നീ ചുമക്കണം. കൂടുതൽ കൂലി നൽകാം.

രണ്ടു ചാക്കുമായി അയാൾ നടന്നപ്പോഴും വയോധികൻ പഴയ ചോദ്യം ആവർത്തിച്ചു.

ഒന്നും പ്രതികരിക്കാതെ യുവാവ് നടന്നു. മലയടിവാരത്ത് എത്തിയപ്പോൾ മൂന്നാം ചാക്കും ഏൽപിച്ചു വയോധികൻ പറഞ്ഞു:

 "ഇതിൽ സ്വർണനാണയങ്ങളാണ്. ഈ ചുമട് എനിക്കെടുക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല. ഇത് കൂടി താങ്കൾ ചുമക്കൂ ,കൂടുതൽ കൂലി നൽകാം ...." മൂന്ന് ചാക്കുകളും കൈവശമായപ്പോൾ യുവാവ്  ആ  മൂന്നു ചാക്കുകളുമായി അയാളെ കബളിപ്പിച്ച് ഓടി.

വീട്ടിലെത്തി ചാക്ക് തുറന്നുനോക്കിയപ്പോൾ അതിൽ മണ്ണുകൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയ നാണയ രൂപങ്ങൾ മാത്രം. കൂടെ ഒരു കുറിപ്പും. 

രാജ്യത്തു സത്യസന്ധനായ ധനകാര്യമന്ത്രിയെ കണ്ടെത്താനുള്ള ശ്രമമായിരുന്നു ഇത്. താങ്കൾ പരാജയപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു...

പുറംമോടികളെല്ലാം പ്രതികൂല കാലാവസ്ഥയിൽ അലിഞ്ഞില്ലാതാകും. അകക്കാമ്പുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അഭംഗിയുണ്ടായാലും അടിപതറി വീഴില്ല. ഒരാൾ അതിജീവിച്ച പ്രലോഭനങ്ങളെ അളന്നെടുത്തുവേണം അയാളുടെ സ്വഭാവവൈശിഷ്ട്യവും മനക്കരുത്തും വിലയിരുത്താൻ.

ഈ കഥയിലെ യുവാവ് ആദ്യ രണ്ട് തവണകളിൽ വയോധികന്റെ പ്രലോഭനത്തെ ചെറുത്തുനിന്നു. എന്നാൽ മൂന്നാം തവണ അയാൾ പ്രലോഭനത്തിന് വഴങ്ങി. ഇത് അയാളുടെ പരാജയത്തിന് കാരണമായി.
